Life in Quarantine
Um, yeah. As soon as we got back to New York from London it seemed as though chaos broke out.
We landed on Thursday and immediately Orlando saw the news that Broadway was closed for a month. That meant he was out of a job for the foreseeable future. Little by little the rest of us lost our jobs. It was one of those things that had we known, we would have flown straight home to El Paso. Even though there’s no reason to stay in New York, we’ve felt it would be irresponsible to go home now. There’s no way to know for sure since only those folks showing symptoms are getting tested (and some not even then), but because of where we were and where we live, there’s a chance we’re carrying the virus. Trust me though, I’d rather be quarantined with my family than here.
So, we’ve been staying our apartment and going out for walks around the neighborhood. It hasn’t been so bad, honestly.
It wasn’t until yesterday that I truly started getting productive, though.
Orlando and I have been working out together and doing Bible study together. In terms of my career, though, I was stuck. I found a schedule specifically for creatives and today is the first day of me trying to stick to it!
I do better with schedules and structure as opposed to leaving me to my own devices!
I may not follow the schedule exactly, but it helps me organize my day as opposed to just watching YouTube videos all day. I’ve also been a lot more motivated to bake and cook, something that I pretty much gave up after moving here.
That’s the bread I think I’m baking today! I hope you’re staying safe.
